Mae Island

Mae Island is a long and narrow island which is 7 kilometers east of Tokashiki Island. Before the pacific war bonito fishery was vigorous and this island was known as Kerama Takigi. People once tried to open up this island and provisional water supply system was equipped. But they migrated to Okinawa Is. because a big typhoon damaged them, which made this island uninhabited. Although it has no regular line, people gather to enjoy fishing and diving on boats.
